Bill Adams
b. 1957, USA
Bill Adams (b. 1957) is an American artist, born in New York and living on Long Island. He studied at the Claremont Colleges and received his master's degree from Indiana University in 1986. He paints in oil, draws in ballpoint pen and works in clay. He often depicts animals – dogs, ducks, cats and strange creatures – and his more recent works respond to political events. He has had solo exhibitions at the New York galleries Kerry Schuss and Shrine, and in 2013 he took part in “Ballpoint Pen Drawing Since 1950” at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. In 1989 he was a MacDowell fellow. The gallery offers his painting “Friend” (2004, oil on linen): a dark animal figure against a greyish background.
