Albinas Načiulis
1933–2000
Albinas Načiulis (1933–2000) was a Lithuanian printmaker. Born in the village of Kuršai (Telšiai district), he studied graphic art at the State Art Institute under A. Kučas and J. Kuzminskis in 1956–1962. From 1964 he was a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union. He made prints, book illustrations and ex libris, mostly in etching, drypoint and mezzotint. His works are characterised by sculptural, generalised forms and an expressive manner, heightened by contrasting chiaroscuro and the trembling of fine hatching. The Lithuanian National Museum of Art holds his lithograph 'French Worker' (1962) and other works. The linocut 'Village Landscape' offered by the gallery dates from 1958, his student years.
