Elena Redmond

Elena Redmond was born in 1998 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2021 she completed a BFA in printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design, and she has lived and worked in Brooklyn, New York, ever since. In her self-portraits she explores her relationship with privacy, vulnerability and power, drawing on pop-culture moments and internet virality. She paints in layered glazes: the realistic foreground gives way to softening, darkening upper edges, often framed by architectural elements. She has had solo exhibitions at Tchotchke Gallery in New York and Long Story Short in Los Angeles (2022), at Moosey Gallery in London (2023), and in 2025 at DIMIN in New York, the gallery that represents her.
