Rima Jankauskaitė-Miknevičienė
b. 1942
Rima Jankauskaitė-Miknevičienė (b. 1942) is a Lithuanian painter. She was born in Grinkiškis in the Radviliškis district and went to school in Baisogala. In 1963, together with K. Dereškevičius, A. Kuras, A. Švėgžda and A. Šaltenis, she was invited to join Antanas Gudaitis's class, and in 1967 she graduated from the State Art Institute. From 1971 she took part in exhibitions and Baltic triennials, and in 1975 she became a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Union. In 1995 she went on a six-month internship at a study centre in Vermont, then settled in New York and lived in the USA until 2006. Colour is central to her painting: forms of nature and everyday objects are built from flows of colour, and black lines or contours are rare. Her works are held by the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and the Georgian National Museum.
