Saulė Kisarauskienė
1937–2023
Saulė (Saulutė Stanislava) Kisarauskienė (1937–2023) was a printmaker and painter. Born in Kaunas, she graduated in textiles from the Lithuanian Art Institute in 1960 and was a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association from 1966. In 1970–1982 she worked at the Prints Cabinet of the Vilnius University Library. She made prints (monotype, etching, aquatint), bookplates and book illustrations, and painted. Her prints are marked by improvisation, graceful lines and combinations of textures; her paintings by abstract structures, geometrised forms and a minimalist palette. In 1994 she founded a charity foundation in the name of her husband, Vincas Kisarauskas. Her works are held by the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, the MO Museum and museums abroad.
